The display cabinet industry is concentrated in manufacturing belts such as Guangdong, while stores open all over the country, so remote customization has become the industry norm: people are out of town, goods are thousands of miles away, invisible and untouchable, completing a non-standard project entirely through remote communication. The risk of remote customization is naturally higher than local—color difference, size error, installation accidents; every link may be amplified by distance. But as long as the three things of drawings, samples, and acceptance are done solidly, remote customization can be as controllable as local procurement. The biggest information gap in remote projects is the site. The remedy is to standardize the survey: the purchaser photographs and measures according to the list—store panoramic photos (one in each of the four directions), wall and column dimensions, floor height, fire facilities and electrical box positions, floor material and flatness, door width and elevator dimensions (determining whether the cabinet can enter the site), power points. Using a tape measure with a phone rangefinder, standardized on-site information collection can be completed within two hours.
Dimension records must mark the "measurement point height": walls often have unequal width top and bottom due to construction errors, and cabinet design must leave gaps according to the minimum dimension, rather than rigidly fixing to the ideal dimension. If conditions allow, get the original drawing of the shop from the property as a reference. After these materials are sent to the factory, the design party produces a scheme drawing accordingly, and then the purchaser takes the drawing back to the site for a round of "reverse verification"—use masking tape to mark the placement of key cabinets on the ground to gauge, confirm that the traffic flow and door opening are not affected, and then enter the drawing confirmation. This back-and-forth seems to take a few more days, but avoids the most common tragedy: the cabinet is shipped thousands of miles away, but cannot enter the door and is blocked by half a column.
In remote cooperation, verbal consensus is almost no consensus. The drawing must contain complete information: three views and external dimensions of each cabinet, material craftsmanship annotations, color codes, lighting points and electrical configuration, hardware models. Drawing versions must be managed by numbering—mismatches like "V3 drawing plus V2 quotation" are a high-incidence source of remote disputes; each confirmation is based on "version number plus confirmation date plus signature."
Sample confirmation is the second insurance for remote projects. Samples are mailed back and forth and signed and sealed by both parties as a comparison benchmark for bulk goods acceptance. So remote customers should write "process visibility" into the contract as one of the manufacturer's delivery obligations. At the same time, don't be a hands-off boss yourself: reply and confirm promptly after each node image is sent, and don't let the factory rush the schedule with silent confirmation records—problems dragged to later stages are always more expensive.
The risk peak of remote delivery is in the logistics link. Packaging standards must be agreed in advance: layered protection of cabinets, corner protectors, independent wooden frames for glass, moisture-proof separate packing of light strips and power supplies; damage-prone parts listed in a separate box. The transportation method is weighed by cargo value and timeliness; for valuable or node-rushing projects, it is better to spend a little more on a dedicated line or dedicated vehicle. The payment rhythm also needs to be designed for distance. Beyond the conventional structure of "deposit plus final payment before shipment," large projects can be split into node payments: pay deposit upon signing, pay the second installment upon sample cabinet confirmation, and pay the final balance before shipment. Each node corresponds to a verifiable deliverable, and payment always follows verification, so risk is cut into small pieces.
